When Silence Speaks
Some times the best thing you can do is to remain silent. This throws off anyone that is trying to get a rise out of you. When you don’t respond to their manipulation or anger, it serves the purpose of enhancing your peace. This skill takes much practice as our instincts are to lash out. By remaining calm and even silent you speak volumes. You are saying that, “I am in control,and you can not break me,” This will have one of two effects: the other person will calm down, or the will have a meltdown. Either way you know that you peace, which comes from God, is maintained, and you have not sinned by becoming angry at your brother or sister. I’m not saying that some times anger isn’t justified, Jesus said, “blessed are the the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.” (Matt 5:9) Yet, he also flipped the tables in the temple in righteous anger.
