Wednesday August 3, 2022 Two years
Today was a day I could have used Winnie the Pooh. Two years ago today my grandmother earned her wings. She was gentle but tough. Calm yet fierce. When I was very little she would Winnie the Pooh to me, then tell me biblical stories while I would lay on her lap. I remember napping to those stories and her singing gospel songs.
Granny knew when to coddle you and when to kick you in the pants. She kept me from missing out on family memories. On holidays we went to Granny’s. We would up 30 plus people in a two bedroom house. Then they retired and we all went to the farm. Up to five generations came to be with Granny.
I miss her worship. I miss singing on the porch. I miss her advice (asked for or not). I really miss her prayers, I just assumed if Granny prayed about it God was on it.
I am grateful that Granny found PawPaw 10-12, my Grandpa died when I was 4. PawPaw acted like I was his own. Taught me to play NES. Pranked me and has loved me. I’m glad he is part of my family.
Saying all this, today was a tough day. I have been very depressed and broke down several times.
Now for updates we finally found a vendor that can get me a hospital bed. My copayment is $650, I still owe $2000 on my wheelchair. Plus monthly meds and trying to get a van so when I can make it to my wheelchair I can go to external physical therapy.
I did exercise today. Two sets of 100 reps with sets of 40 reps on arms and chest, leg sweeps and leg lifts. Yes, I am being assisted with the leg lifts on my right leg. Everything else is all me.
